It would be wonderful to be performing in or directing shows on Broadway all the time, so I could actually sleep in my own bed (California King... I am tall). But working part of the time at the Arts Center on Hilton Head Island certainly isn't bad!

  • Where did you get your chair/Does your chair have a history? The chair was part of the set in the play "Shear Madness" which I played the Hairdresser, Tony (wearing PINK pants, by the way), at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. The Arts Center staff saved the chair when the show ended. Then at the Arts Center's anniversary celebration, Razzle Dazzle, I sang a song with Kim Shriver on the chair. Last summer when I directed "A Chorus Line", I was photographed for a story about the show with the entire cast clumped around the chair. It is now my personal "director's chair." I have directed several shows at the ARTS CENTER, and now every time we are rehearsing in the BLACKBOX, I Sit in my yellow "beauty salon" chair. I don't even have to request it. When I fly in from NYC, the chair is there. Its an old friend ... just like I know Remys, Tiki Hut and Julie Hahn will be here... three of my dear "friends" since I have named Hilton Head my 2nd home since 1989. I think they put the chair away when I'm gone. I don't know where it goes.
