Eclectic.
Before walking into Vineyard 55, you’re immediately immersed in the eclectic atmosphere of the wine and cheese bar, where a cozy front porch, comfortable couches and bistro tables all beckon you to stay a while. Think, Old South meets chic outdoor bistro. The inside is matched exuding old-world rustic. Wide, brown leather couches adorn the walls with old wine-barrels, serving as high-top tables, scattered throughout the room. On one side there is a spacious bar, where locals sit and enjoy their anticipated first drink of happy hour. The atmosphere alone screams, “This is where the locals go.”
Fresh.
Owner Jon Rinaldi bought Vineyard 55 four years ago with a vision, thanks to its prime location in Old Town Bluffton. He was set on creating a comfy, casual family-and-friends-style bar where locals could go and unwind from the day’s events. The menu is wine-and-appetizer focused, with an unmatched wine list of 150 varieties, over 80 types of beers include 22 on tap. Antipasto and cheese platters, paired with their famous bruschetta, perfectly complement the atmosphere. The idea behind the menu is that you come in with your friends, order a variety of beverages, antipasto, cheeses and pizza; sharing is encouraged. The made-from-scratch wood-fired pizza is the most popular item on the menu. From classic Margherita to specialty pies, like goat cheese-prosciutto, everyone is sure to find a favorite.
Hot.
In the heart of downtown historic Bluffton, Vineyard 55 is the perfect spot for date night, as well as dinner with the family. Drop in and experience a host of regular, live and local entertainment. Bar manager Cassie Robinson recommends pairing the Cocoa Cardona red wine with their Thomasville Tomme cheese for an unbeatable combination. Happy hour is every day with half-priced appetizers from 4 to 7 p.m.
Local.
Known to locals as “A Bluffton State of Mind,” Jon has succeeded in creating a haven for food and wine lovers alike to go and have a drink, in a place where you feel surrounded by friends and family. Whether you go with friends or go alone, you’re sure to have a great experience.
Classic Italian Bruschetta
Bruschetta has become a universal appetizer for any and all occasions. This recipe is not only dangerously delicious, it’s crazy simple.
Ingredients:
French Baguette
Fresh Tomatoes
Garlic
Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Cut tomatoes in half. Arrange them on a sheet pan, cut sides up. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and sprinkle with garlic, salt and pepper. Roast for 25-30 minutes, or until they begin to caramelize.
Dice into small chunks. Set aside. Mix remaining extra-virgin olive oil and garlic in bowl. Pour mixture over baguette and let soak. Top with fresh, roasted tomatoes. Voila!
