Lavender Dryer Sheet Sachets
DIY
This is an easy sewing project perfect for this time of year. It repurposes used dryer sheets to make pretty sachets in which to fill your drawers and closets. These sachets will fill your home with the delightful aromas to match the freshness of spring. Perfect as gifts, this quick project can be made in assembly line style. Just sew, fill, staple and tag!
1.Take a flattened, used dryer sheet and iron with a scrap piece of fabric over it. It will cling to the fabric a little, so make sure it’s a scrap you don’t need to keep.
2. Take ironed sheet and place it long ways, left to right. Fold over left to right.
3. Sew down one side, across the bottom and then up the
other side. Trim and neaten up the edges.
4. Now your bag is ready to fill with any dried, sweet smelling flower. (Lavender shown here.)
5. Fold over the two corners and then flap down the top. Pin to hold in place. Sew straight across.
6. Print a bunch of cute little sayings on card stock and have them on hand.
7.Use a paper punch or a favorite cookie cutter to trace a shape.
8.Staple string to top of bag and wrap it down the front of bag, around the back and over the top to the front. Leave about 2 inches and cut.
9.Staple the end of the string to the back of the tag.
10. Bring the tag over to the front and at the very bottom of the tag, cut a small snip in the card stock and secure the front string in the snip.
